Hendershot CDV $650.00

Original wartime photograph of Robert Henry Hendershot, the Drummer Boy of the Rappahannock. CDV format (3.5'' X 2.25'').

Twelve-year-old Robert served with the Ninth and Eighth Michigan Infantry during the Civil War. He also served with the Navy in 1864. Robert is one of my favorite boy soldiers. This image was taken by the photographic firm of Kertson & Barker of New York City. Great contrast, trimmed slightly at bottom. For information on his colorful military career see pages 215-224 in Too Young To Die.

Clem CDV $800.00

Original wartime image of John Lincoln Clem, The Drummer Boy of Chickamauga. CDV format (3.5'' X 2.25'').

Outstanding armed image of Sgt. Clem taken by the photographic firm of "Schwing & Rudd, Photographers, Army of the Cumberland." Tear at top of print not touching Clem's image. The Newark, Ohio native was undoubtedly the most famous underage boy-soldier of the Civil War. For more information about John Lincoln Clem see pages 224-240 of Too Young To Die.

Long CDV $75.00

Unidentified 53d Ohio Infantry soldier

This unidentified image was produced by T.W.Spencer Ambrotype and Photographic Artist, M'Arthur, Ohio. It was from an album of other 53d Ohio images and the soldier sports one of their destinctive coats. The 76th Ohio also wore this style during the war but this soldier we can assume was of the 53d due to the association of other images found together.
